Sandy is a retired airline pilot who started cycling at age 64. In October of 2005 he fractured his C1 cervical vertebra in a time trial accident. After 9 months of healing he won his first two Florida state cycling championships, winning the 5K time trial and the 20K road race, and was awarded the AMS Masters Comeback Athlete of the Year Award, by "Masters Athlete" magazine. ...
